ELBOW FLEXORS
 
The elbow flexors are: 1) biceps, 2) brachioradialis and 3) brachialis. These muscles are shown in Figure 1 below:

INNERVATION (NERVE SUPPLY)

The nerve supply to the biceps is from the musculocutaneous nerve and is from branches C5-C7 of the brachial plexus. The nerve supply to the brachioradialis is the from the C5 and C6 branches of the radial nerve. The nerve supply to the brachialis is the musculocutaneous nerve and part of the radial nerve. See Figure 2.

Function

The biceps, brachioradialis and brachialis muscles function to flex the forearm on the arm at the elbow joint. This movement is common during exercises that involve arm curls.
